The village of Crescent Beach is located just south of the mouth of the 'Nicomekl', in South Surrey, BC, where a bend in the river estuary reveals a marina that provides shelter for hundreds of boats.  Next door, the nature preserve of 'Blackie's Spit' hosts dozens of species of resident and migratory birds, which may be observed from natural blinds atop the surrounding dyke's trails.
